Today is my mom's birthday...so naturally I am thankful for my mom and all that she has been and is to me and the joy that my mom/Nana is going to impact the life of my sweet Audrey. Being thankful for my mom is really the spring board for how thankful I am for mom's in general. I think about the relationship I have with my mother-in-law Ms. Dee and it is such a gift. I think about how Sonja is with Audrey and how and what a gift it is to see this dynamic up close.
My appreciation for the role of "mom" has also become more authentic at the end of my first week keeping Audrey. It is unmistakeable that God created each of us for specific roles and while I am thankful and humbled to be a Dad...wow that is still amazing to me...the tender relationship that a mother and child have is a picture of the heart of God.
I am thankful for my mom especially today on her birthday, I am thankful for the moms that are in my life and thankful to have a brief time of being "Mr. Mom"
