Merry Christmas!!

Well, we did it! Our first Christmas away from family - blood family, at least! We did it and it was a great day! Woke up late (for us, at least - 830ish), talked to family first thing, opened gifts, talked to family again, went upstairs for brunch right out of a gourmet restaurant (they are wonderful cooks!!) with our great neighbors/landlords, talked to family again, then spent the afternoon/evening with the Lang family, and of course talked to the family one more time (we had a lot of family to cover!!). It was a nice surprise of a day - I think we honestly thought it was going to be much harder than it actually was. We worked ourselves up with the anticipation of being away from family, we both were honestly exhausted by the time the day arrived! It truly was a great day, though. We had so many gifts to open - Blue and Tate were very interested in what we were unwrapping each time! And we were so grateful to have each other!

So we've got one under our belt - does that make us grown ups now?? Lord willing we will be able to be with our families next year but it's good to know that we can do it ourselves if we need to. And we are NOT alone here in St. Louis. We were overwhelmed by the invitations for Christmas day so we did not feel alone in the least!!
