preparing for the big day

a sidenote - my sweet husband has been keeping up with the monthly tracking of miss aud - i haven't been feeling so hot to trot lately and i appreciate him more than he could ever know!!!!! he IS the best!!

we are getting ready for the big b-day in the casa de clower and our house surely shows it! i'll spare you pics of the house right now since we are cleaning and it's a bit of a mess, but i will share a snapshot of something i've been working on for the lst 5 or 6 weeks for aud's birthday. i'm not a "crafty" person - i DESPERATELY wish that i was - but i'm not. i cross stitch, though, and decided a couple of months ago after cross stitching a birthday gift for a cousin's son that i was going to cross stitch HAPPY BIRTHDAY, not having a clue as to how it would be presented but thinking it might be a nice little keepsake for her down the road. i wanted it to be fun and casual, not country artish (for lack of a better term), and my neighbor upstairs gave me a great idea of how to put it all together. so here is a sneak peek of what i finally finished the other night.........
and we are currently working on these as a decoration for the party - we aren't really "theme" people, so to speak, so i just wanted simple, fun, crisp decorations. as i mentioned in the paragraph above i am not a crafty person, but 2 sweet friends came over and brainstormed with me on sunday and i'm really excited about the things we have up our sleeve now!!
totally unrelated but i found it rather comical this morning - the cabinets are now audrey AND mommy-proofed. i need to get a trash bag out and i cannot for the life of me figure this thing out! guess it will have to wait for ed to get home!! :)
happy wednesday everyone!!!!!

After completing those two projects I think you can no longer consider yourself "not crafty." DARLING!!! Proof is in the pudding!
