it looks like we are going to be in st louis for the holidays this year - this will be twice in 4 years that we aren't able to get home to family. admittedly i'm having a really hard time with this now that audrey is in the picture. i would love to spend the holidays with family, even though i know she won't remember a thing (i will, though!!)! at the same time i'm starting to realize that this might just be a gift in itself - a time for us to really reflect and look at how we want to start celebrating the holidays as our own little family, traditions we want to start, etc. doesn't take away from the sadness of being away, but it does make it a little exciting.
so today i am thankful for sweet friends that, when they found out we were going to be here this year, immediately said, "well, you guys are coming to our house, right?" they didn't even miss a beat!!! this will be the second set of holidays that we will spend with the lang family and we are SO grateful they are willing to take us in again this year!! thank you, sweet friends!
