Thankful day 12

This evening we went to dinner with some friends at this restaurant called the Shaved Duck. We went to hear the husband of one of Sonja's clients play guitar and to hang out with some dear friends and the Audrey that solidified us naming our Audrey...Audrey.

About half way through dinner I was catching parts of the song that Bob was playing and all of a sudden I was transported back to family reunions with my mom's family when we would all sit around and sing and play music. My mom's family are all extremely gifted musicians and singers that specialize in old Dylan, Peter Paul and Mary, and other music in that genre. So growing up I remember hearing a handful of songs that I didn't know who wrote them or any context other than my mom, Jan, Jo, Uncle Ed, Uncle Dave and Uncle Gary when he was alive, would do multiple part harmonies to these songs.....So, I had a mouth full of these incredible ribs and I recognize one of these songs. I instantly had tears in my eyes thinking of my family, thinking about Myrtle Beach trips, Cheerwine, Lance Crackers, Tom the eternal horse, and my sweet Pop. What a gift to have such fond memories of my family and how sad I am that I'm not able to see them more often.

***After asking our friends that are from "that generation" what the name of the song is and who sings it I learned that Bob Dylan wrote it and the songs name... "You ain't Going No Where". I mainly remember the "oooh wee fly me high"...I love my family and am thankful for them...Long live the Rhodes
