First Fathers Day

My sweet Sonja made the day for me and about me...she is so good at that kind of thing. This fathers day for me brings the reality of our daughter Audrey Hope's arrival in late August even closer. The first of the firsts: my first day of being celebrated about being a dad and father for our daughter...wow, what a humbling and exciting adventure. On a more difficult note this was also the first fathers day without Tate; so there were some happy and exciting tears and some sad and reflective tears as well.
The day started with breakfast at Kris's with french toast, scrambled eggs and lots of coffee...we have come to love Kris's. We then went to the ZOO...yes imagine that the ZOO. The big draw to go to the ZOO on a day that was to be the hottest in St. Louis this year was Stingray Exhibit. This was truly one of the neatest things we've done in a while. You could actually touch the stingrays as they swam by it was awesome. We went to the Sea Lion show as well and had a ball. The day was rounded out with a few hours of watching the U.S. Open, grilling steaks for dinner and watching a movie. We had a great day together and it was such a treat to be loved so well. I am truly blessed to have a wife that is so FOR ME. I am so thankful to have been celebrated yesterday.

Aww, I got a little teary-eyed reading this. Little Audrey has no idea yet how blessed she truly is to have you two for parents.
