We love Aleda - and not just because this is the 2nd time she's invited us to a hockey game in the alumni box. She has been nothing but kind to me and to Ed since we've been here. Aleda is the manager of the TravelPlex office in Kirkwood and she moonlights at a little restaurant/bar we enjoy called Johns Town Hall (the Cheers of St. Louis). She also bartends in the alumni hockey players box for the St. Louis Blues and when they have extra tickets she is kind enough to call over to our office to see who's interested. Have to be honest - don't know much about hockey but I do enjoy watching. Plus it's such a treat to be up in the box, visiting with friends, enjoying the view from above. She is a sweetheart and we love her to death!
The gentleman in the picture is a St. Louis legend, Bob Plager. Below is a little bit from the Blues website:
Bob Plager, along with his brother Barclay, had a profound impact on the birth of the St. Louis Blues. Rock solid on defense and among the fiercest competitors in all of hockey, Bob Plager became a local legend and a loyal ambassador of hockey in the community. As a player, Bob lived for unity and team play. If someone tried to take advantage of a teammate, you could bet he’d have to answer to a Plager...or two...or three.
What a treat, all the way around!!
